Faith in the City is encouraging people of faith to stand up for a 2018 Toronto budget that builds a more compassionate and just city.

As you may know, the City of Toronto released its preliminary budget on November 30.

The draft budget fails to fund over $40 million in promised actions on poverty reduction, housing and other initiatives to help vulnerable people in our city.

Please take one or more of the following actions to help secure a City budget that improves lives of people who are struggling:

1. Sign and share the Toronto Can Do Better petition by January 31.
2. Make a written or oral deputation to the City's Budget Committee on January 8, 9 or 10. (Click here for details).
3. Join other faith leaders in meeting with a City Councillor in January - or set up your own meeting.
4. Attend Faith in the City’s next planning meeting.
